Korean Beef Bulgogi Recipe

This could be the easiest and tastiest dish you make this week…..

Korean Beef Bulgogi is a staple in Korea. Marinated beef is typically cooked on a BBQ or grilled tableside in restaurants.

For the beef I went with a really good cut of New York Strip, but you can also go with Rib Eye or Flank Steak, Which ever cut you pick you need to slice thin strips against the grain.

Tip: Place the beef in the freezer for around 20-30 minutes prior to slicing. This way the beef will be firm enough to make it really easy to slice thinly.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Sirloin, New York Strip, or Flank Steak – Thinly sliced against the grain

Marinade

  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame seeds (if available)
  • 2 Tbsp chopped green onion
  • 3 Tbsp onion (chopped very fine in a blender)

Instruction

  • Place all of the marinade ingredients into a bowl or ziplock bag
  • Add the slices of beef to the marinade and mix well
  • Place marinated beef into the fridge for at least 2-3 hours (overnight is better)
  • Remove the beef from the fridge about 20 minutes before you start to cook
  • Heat up a frying pan to medium high and add the marinated beef (the meat should sizzle when it hits the pan). You can also use a wok or BBQ Grill
  • Fry the meat until it is browned on both sides
  • Remove from pan and top with some sliced green onions and serve with cooked white rice and optionally some stir fried vegetables.
  • Enjoy

That’s it, super easy and the marinade makes it super tasty.
