For the first time on the Island, the Puerto Rico Cocktail Week (PRCW) will be held, the event that represents a new step in the history of Puerto Rican cocktails. From November 3 to 9, around 40 different bars and local restaurants will join to celebrate the development and new trends behind the bar to create unique cocktail experiences for the public to enjoy.

The Puerto Rico Cocktail Week consists of an extensive seven day program that includes: 15 seminars, cocktail shifts with international bartenders in official bars, distillery and brewery tours, special cocktail menus and over 20 special events for the local public and tourists. 

The seminars and workshops will feature renown local and international expects including: Nectaly Mendoza (Herbs & Rye in Las Vegas), Márcio Silva (Gihotina in São Paulo), Ricky Gómez (Palomar in Portland), Michelle Willard (Back Bar Project), Jeff Beachbum Berry (25 Most Influential Cocktail Personalities of the Past Century), Gayle Seale (Global Foursquare Rum Ambassador), Jhonnatan Mejías (Colombia and Ambassador for Latin America and the Caribbean of Montelobos mezcal), Lucas Groglio (Conscious Cocktail Bar in Argentina ) and Ricardo Nava (Limantour in Mexico). LOcal experts invclude: Silvia Santiago (senior vice president of manufacturing at Serrallés Distillery), Ariel Rosario (Perfect Serve Ambassador of Ballester Brothers), Miguel Miranda (Co-Founder at Muuaaa Design Studio) and Ana Delia de Iturrondo (professional athlete).

Demonstrating its commitment to education, the event will serve as a catapult to create scholarships for future cocktail professionals and the sustainable development of this industry. “One of the most important aspects for the creation of this project is that it would serve as a development platform with best practices for environmental conservation and trained personnel with knowledge in general well-being,” said Deliana Olmo, founding partner of PRCW.

On the other hand, the PRCW, an event aimed at industry professionals as well as amateurs and lovers of good cocktails, serves as a boost to tourism. This is because, due to the high quality of the seminars, resources and events in the official bars, visitors will arrive on the island to be part of this week. “This project exists to unite the industry where together we raise the experience we give our local consumers and visitors,” said Alexandra Rivera, founding partner of PRCW.

“We want more people to integrate and learn from this industry. Puerto Rico has always stood out and this project aims to expose that the local cocktail bar is at the level of the global cocktail bar and position the island as a destination for cocktail tourism, ” said Roberto Berdecía, founding partner of PRCW.

As part of the PRCW, around 40 bars and restaurants around the island will offer special menus and preferential prices during the week of the event. Some of these official bars are: 173 Degrees, Acapulco, Almaviva, Arya Rooftop, Asere, Axolote, Azucena, Bar Bero, Bocca, Bottega, Café Tresbé, Caneca, Casa Montecristo, Casita Miramar, Open Kitchen, El Batey, El Carey, El Corozal, Gallo Negro, Grazani, Jungle Bird, La Casita de Rones, La Concha Resort, La Cubanita, La Factoria, La Unidad, Murphy’s Law, Old Floor, Prole, Rincon Beer Company, Sabrina Brunch & Bistro Bar, Santaella, Serafina Beach Hotel, Tantalo, The Rooftop by Mario Pagán, Timber & Blues and Wicked Lily.

In addition, this edition will be supported by prestigious brands such as DonQ, Woodford Reserve, Fifty Pounds, Dewar’s, Ketel One, Montelobos, Perrier, Giffard, Contratto, José Cuervo, 1800, Rémy Martin, Bruichladdich, Magna, Rums of Puerto Rico, Real Cocktail Ingredients, Absolut, Jameson, Beefeater, Pama, Maker’s Mark, Foursquare Rum and Ron Barrilito.

Official Host For The First Edition PRCW

La Concha Resort is the official host of the first edition of Puerto Rico Cocktail Week. From November 3 to 9, La Concha Resort will be the official venue for multiple events. During the seven days at the hotel lobby bar, international bartenders will have their turn from 4PM to 7PM. The opening event: Welcome! Sunday, November 3 will be held in the Sereno Pool from 5PM – 8PM. For three consecutive days the Atlántiko room will be the place for the 15 educational seminars. The Ocean Lounge will be the designated space for the PRCW Tasting Lounge where brands will offer tastings, presentation of innovations and Pop Up exhibitions.
